The Fleet Feet Fall 2013 No Boundaries program, otherwise known as Couch to 5K, is now open for registration. New this fall are an additional Beginner Runner group AND an additional walking track. "We have had lots of people tell us they can't make the evening or Saturday morning workouts, especially people with children or those who work at night or Saturdays. So we've added a Beginner Runner track that will meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings.", said Tina Mickelson , Training Program Coordinator for Fleet Feet. "And, we are adding a longer distance option for our Walking Team." The program also includes an Advanced 5K track for more experienced runners. The information meeting and kick-off for the 10 week program takes place at Fleet Feet in downtown Chico on Saturday, August 24th at 9:00 AM. For people who have been through our program and are getting their friends to join, anyone who refers three new participants to the No Boundaries program will receive a pair of New Balance shoes. Sponsored by Fleet Feet and New Balance, this is the most popular training program offered and will sell out fast.
No Boundaries is designed to provide people with a path from the couch to the starting line of their first 5K, either as a walker or a runner. This iteration of the program will have the Almond Bowl 5K as the target race for participants. The Almond Bowl takes place on Sunday, November 3, in Bidwell Park.
