Fleet Feet Donates Profits from Summer Sizzler

September 13th - Chico, CA

The Summer Sizzler is in the books, and once again Fleet Feet is donating profits from the event to local charities. "Despite participation being a little lower this year, I'm pleased that we are still able to donate some funds", said Alan Rice, Co-Owner of Fleet Feet. The Summer Sizzler has become a rite of passage for Chicoans as they run or walk their way to a 5K or 10K finish during the hottest part of the year. The weather was not quite sizzling this year which allowed for some fast times, with Brooke Bergesen winning the 5K in 18 minutes and 37 seconds, and Kyle Fox winning the 10K in 33:23.

"Not only was it a great race in great conditions, we were able to donate $500 each to our two charities - Wings of Eagles and North Valley animal Disaster Group", said Brendan Scanlon, Fleet Feet's Race Director. The day was rounded off with a wonderful afternoon awards ceremony at Madison Bear Garden.
